Cone Flower ....

... otherwise known as echinacea. 

This morning after breakfast we went up to Lehigh Gap Nature Center to see what birds and flowers were around.  

We started by walking the short Prairie Warbler Loop in the hopes of seeing some warblers.  Unfortunately, we didn't.  We did see some other birds though.  But none we hadn't seen before.

We then had our lunch sitting in the car ... with the top down and the sun beating down on us!  Bliss!

After we ate we toured the gardens where I got this shot of the purple cone flower.  And then as we were leaving we saw a female tree swallow up under the patio roof.  She was NOT happy that we were there as she had a nest of chicks up there ... see extra!  The chicks (there are five of them) were so funny ... they were quiet until I took their picture and then each time the flash went off they would pipe up as you see in the extra photo!  So darn cute!
