Vancouver, Day 5

It rained pretty heavily this morning so we had a rather lazy, domestic time. Which is always fine by me! The highlight was a lovely FaceTime chat with Blipper Extraordinaire, Kendall (www.blipfoto.com/entry/2197205610045377347 ) down in Portland. So good to be in the same time zone for a change!

The rain had cleared up enough by early afternoon to wander round the corner to a local Japanese café for a rather tasty lunch of veggie sushi and tempura.

After lunch, we headed downtown to do a spot of touristy sightseeing under a dark and threatening sky but the rain held off while we checked out the waterfront at Canada Place (where this shot was taken) and the galleries and coffee shops in Gastown - all of which contrasted sharply with the Pigeon Park area which is immediately adjacent to it and which provides a haven to low-income and no-income city dwellers, many more of whom are noticeable living on the streets than the last time I was here. But I think the same is true everywhere, certainly in Liverpool.

Back to a Canadian band for today's tune, it's the Cowboy Junkies with a song which reflects today's skies... www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSBkKmo56VY
