The ascent

Today we got a bus up to Sant Julia de Loria then from there another bus up to Naturlandia. While we were waiting for the bus from Sant Julia we met a Canadian girl, Theresa, who was in Andorra for the day. Pretty much the first person speaking English we've met in our time here. She's travelling for five weeks or so. She had started in London, then went to Spain for a bit before heading over to Morocco then back to Spain. She's staying in Barcelona now and fancied seeing the Pyrenees so did a day trip op here. She was heading up to Naturlandia too so we had a good chat with her on the bus up.

The bus journey was 8 kilometres and headed from about 800 metres above sea level to about 2000 metres. Bits of it were slightly hairy but it was ok. Whe we got to Naturlandia we had a great time. It's 25 euros to get in, but for that you cant try archery, shooting, a driving range, quad bikes, an air track (which is a bit like Go Ape in the UK) but most importantly the Tobotronc which is a kind of toboggan thing on steel rails. You start off with a 1700m journey up the hill ascending about 400 metres which takes 13 - 14 minutes then there is a 3500 metre descent. it takes anywhere between about 4 minutes and 8 minutes to come back down depending on how liberal you are with the brake. We took it a bit slowly on the first journey down but gained confidence from there. By the 8th or 9th time down we were absolutely flying down the hill full pelt with only occasional use of the brake at the tightest bends. Only the last bus down to Sant Julia stopped us!

Theresa was on the bus back down too so we had another chat. She had to head to Andorra La Vella to get her bus back to Barcelona so we were able to show her where the bus station was and some of the town.

After that we relaxed in the room for a bit then headed out for the best meal of the holiday yet, Roz had a pizza and I had an amazing tasting sirloin with baked potato. The steak tasted amazing and was about the size of my head.

Still loving Andorra and already making plans to hopefully come back next Summer with Maddy as I reckon she'd love it too.
