Labyrinth Spider

What a shame I can't post this for Tiny Tuesday or Wild Wednesday although Cailleach will probably not enjoy it whatever the day of the week. So sorry! But it is only tiny: about 3.5cm including legs and its outdoors in some brambles so completely harmless.

Labyrinth spiders make a funnel about 1m off the ground which contains an egg sac where the babies will grow. Because of the funnel, they are often confused with the highly venomous funnel web spider, common in Australia but not in the UK!

This was a lucky find as I only popped out to Panshanger Park for 10 minutes to get a blip. It's otherwise been another busy day full of jobs. Lovely and warm though so bbq time.
