Lacock (Friday 8th July 2016)

One of my regular haunts is Lacock Abbey, which is my nearest National Trust property, though it is a couple of months since I have visited. As it is Flower Friday (hosted by Biker Bear, to whom thanks) I headed for their Botanical Gardens, where there is a fine selection of flora. I didn't do too well as I managed to mess up the camera settings but a few came out passably well. I am pretty good at plant identification when there is a discreet label attached with the name of the plant on it, but in this case there was none, although I do recognise the foxgloves. I believe this week the challenge was to depict 'more than one colour' but both the plants here seem to have been chosen by the gardeners for having very similar colours, although some of the foxgloves are considerably more white than others.

I was pleased to find the other Smokey nestling in the grass on the path from the orchard to the rock works, nicknamed 'The Abbess' by the Lacock Abbey staff, and she is my Extra.
