In Loving Memory
It was my sister's funeral today. It all went well, with a lovely tribute at the ceremony and I even managed to read the poems she had asked me to - with only a slight wobble at the end.
The reception afterwards was lovely. It is sad that it takes this kind of event to bring families together. Apart from meeting some of my sister's oldest friends (some for the first time, others for the first time in years), I also met up with a couple of my cousins whom I hadn't seen for years - decades, even. As always, we promised to keep in better touch: I hope we do.
