Early evening cruise

Sailing into the sun aboard the Yorkshire Flyboat, on the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Last night was our annual wine club cruise.
Starting in Leeds, and heading out towards Kirkstall.

Turned out to be a beautiful evening.
( extra photo taken just before we docked in Leeds back at the canal basin.)

The hot Mediterranean buffet, was very much enjoyed by us all.

The highlight , though we're the wines we tasted.
Very kindly provided by S. whose husband T passed away last year.
These were wines which they had collected over the years on their many trips abroad.
Some dating from 1989.
However the star was the one we tasted last,
A 1998 Rioja Glorioso Gran Reserva, from Bodegas Palacio. And it certainly was glorious.

A wonderful evening, which we all enjoyed,.
Their is something so calming, and relaxing gliding along the water at such a leisurely pace, with good friends, good food, and tasting some great wines.

Many thanks to all who helped make the evening special.
Especially S. and the staff of Yorkshire Hire Cruises.
