The Pergola, West Dean Gardens

West Dean Gardens are only about 20mins. drive from Bosham so as I had a spare day thought I would pay a return visit.

The gardens cover an area of 100 acres including some magnificent parkland and woodland walks. The Pergola was originally built in 1911 and at 300ft. long is one of the largest in the country.

A couple more pics. in the extras showing the old head gardeners office and a wooden ladder I rather liked.

After lunch I walked 2.5 miles through the parkland and Arboretum where there were some expansive views over the South Downs.
