People on a Bridge

Meet the family

We spent a fabulous day in the country, visiting my kiss-kiss cousin Agata. After her father's death, she inherited a property near Warsaw, with the most complicated legal conundrum of one property deed for three houses (a legal no-go) two of which were in a state of severe disrepair. She is single-handedly leading the restore/rebuild operation of the two homes after selling the third. Agata hired a local crew, and works alongside with them (when she is not baking them cakes, speaking at political conferences, or writing political document analyses, which is her actual job).

After an amazing meal (which she, of course, cooked), we ventured out into the countryside. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a lot of the fields don't have fences around them, and you can just stroll into the property, and nobody minds. So I strolled between the wheat field and a meadow of sorts only to run into this lovely family of 5. Papa is in the back, momsie is on far left, with the kids in-between. I can't decide who was surprised more by our encounter.

Extras: me, and the cuz serving apple cider and a blueberry tart she baked from blueberries she picked the day before.
