Chewing up the table

If only our UK housebuilding programme was as industrious as this.  A wasp city created in a season, only to be abandoned as Autumn passes.  This one was chewing up our garden table which hasn't yet had its annual coating of varnish.  I wonder where the nest is sited, probably in our loft cavity!  That's the thing about old houses like ours, there still plenty of access to nooks and crannies for wildlife!

Gardening followed by lunch at Cannon Hall this morning.

Many thanks to Rainie for hosting the Tiny Tuesday challenge.
