RSPB Dungeness: Fighting Terns

More balletic in large.
Back blip

We visited RSPB Dungeness in the morning, and Rye in the afternoon.
The RSPB centre was good, although 200mm wasn't quite long enough really, and the gunfire (manoeuvres...) was a bit off-putting. We saw terns (and tern-lings!), swans, tufted ducks, cormorants, great crested grebes (dancing), a lapwing, a reed bunting, wrens, Dungeness power station, a redshank, and a lizard.
I particularly enjoyed the tern fight (and another)

Rye was sweet: I liked the hilltop village feel, and surrounding industry (with the estuary and more modern warehouses). There was a WWII motor launch on the estuary which was characterful.

My other holiday photos are here, and today's pics are right from here.
