Summer Stunner!

A Rhododendron in Summer is something I haven't seen before, and this one was a real stunner!
I think it may be called "Argosy" but not sure.

We visited RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate today, and the gardens looked wonderful.
Expected many summer flowers, but this was a real surprise in the woods.
Several trees, with a path running underneath. They just blew me away. The beauty of the white flowers, each at least 10cm across, were just amazing, and the trees were covered in them.

Although there was no sun it was very pleasant walking round.
At this time of year there is lots of colour, but also perfume, and a hum of bees, and bird song. It is just one of my special places. Every time we go there is something new to see.
Can never come away without a plant or two!
This time just two small alpine plants to put in the stone sink as two have died off.
Delosperma Cooper....which has bright pink daisy type flowers, out now.
Hypericum Olympicum "Sulphureum"...Yellow flowers. Thought this was very appropriate. Hope it survives as it will remind me of the London Olympics.

Talking of which well done the British ladies football team. Have just beaten Brazil!
MrC very pleased, and thought they played superbly.
As he says " They got stuck in!!"

Also well done the Equestrian Team for getting a silver medal!

Really enjoying these games!!
