A Saintly Hotel

We arrived at our destination early this afternoon - Ashland, Oregon, home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. For the past several years, this has been a July tradition for us. I so enjoy the road trip down, the easy banter in the car, the music, the scenery, the pitstops.

Prior to the performance (The Winter's Tale) we took an afternoon stroll and thoroughly enjoyed the brilliant 80 degree weather. We are staying at our usual spot, the beautiful Columbia Hotel, built in 1910 and the oldest operating hotel in Oregon. Just a few blocks away is the Ashland Springs Hotel (pictured) built in 1925,  and which, from all appearances, has recently achieved sainthood.

We enjoyed a post-performance snack and cocktail while discussing the fate of Queen Hermione (did she die, or not??) and watching replays of this evening's Mariner's game.
