Notting Hill

After all the dental shenanigans of yesterday, we finally got to London 24 hours later than we had intended. Arriving, we were struck by the sunshine and the temperature - it is currently 26 degrees, a lot drier and warmer than home.

We are staying in a delightful BnB in Notting Hill. We had a wander around the neighbourhood this afternoon - the blip is Portobello Road and it's market, incredibly popular. We had just walked past a blue plaque - George Orwell lived here up to the 1950's. We diverted off shortly after this shot for quieter areas, and ended up walking through Kensington Gardens to the Serpentine Gallery.

On the way down on the train I was reading about the "Notting Hill Set" and David Cameron, George Osborne and their families meeting up for breakfast at a local cafe the day after they both lost their jobs. Our hostess tells us they live quite close to our BnB.

Boris is a charlatan, deceitful and cruel. He is the lead character in tonight's Prom at the Albert Hall. More on that tomorrow I guess.
