Romeo and Juliet, The Dell, Stratford

He may have said 'all the world's a stage". Well, I thought all the world was in Stratford today. The place was heaving.

We walked, very slowly, around town, taking in the architecture and links to The Bard. We arrived at a The Dell to find The Handlebards were about to perform "Romeo and Juliet", so we sat on the grass with the crowds and very much enjoyed this outdoor performance. Four ladies taking all the parts, very talented actresses. Great props and costumes, many comic moments.

Worth catching up with them, and checking their website. Two groups of four, boys and girls, cycling around the UK this summer, performing several Shakespeare plays. I did note they are in Edinburgh Botanics for most of August for the Fringe Festival, and George Square Gardens in last week of August. Worth seeing.

'That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet."

'For never was a story of more woe, Than this is Juliet and her Romeo."
