Up the hill

Such a good day. An early morning drive to Worcestershire in a fabulous V12-engined Audi Q7, to spend the day with Audi at the Shelsley Walsh hillclimb. We saw a fabulous array of cars ascending the very steep, snaky track up through woods to the top of the 328 ft hill.

They included German racer Hans-Joachim Stuck in this fabulous replica Auto Union, 80 years after a famous run up the same hillclimb by his father Hans Stuck in 1936.

Shelsley Walsh is the oldest motorsport venue in the world still on its original site. It has been in existence for 111 years, since August 1905. Today we had a posh picnic lunch near the top of the hill while enjoying the action. A perfect Saturday
