Hot

I hope it lasts longer than three days but Summer is here. 27.5C in the shade today and hot, so we got chores done in the morning and spent the afternoon lazing in the sun with Mum& Dad before another tasty bbq with home grown fresh salad.

This is hemerocallis aka daylily, the epitome of hot. Apparently the new shoots can be cooked and taste a bit like asparagus and the flowers can be eaten raw in salads. I was almost tempted to try it until I also read that it's used as a painkiller in Chinese medicine, is diuretic, laxative and sedative... amongst many other things. Anyone actually eaten it?
