number five

We drive past this often and I've never photographed it before, although I admire it. The gate at the entrance to the Goodwood Sculpture Park, run by the Cass Foundation, was designed by Wendy Ramshaw, better known for her jewellery designs. You can see the same lines at work that you might see in a pendant. The design incorporates the number five, representing the first five years of the foundation.

The gate is electronically operated, a voice link with the Foundation Centre allows them to open the gate for visitors. The design is all the more pure because it doesn't have to adapt to a locking mechanism.

Made in stainless steel and measureing 300cm high, you can buy one for your own estate, an edition of only 8. But you'll need to save your pennies for a long time ....
