Fish-watching

Another scorcher! The morning was spent at a very well organised meeting about Peterborough's Environmental Strategy, fortunately in an air-conditioned room!

Once that was over, Alex, Ben and I took a picnic down to the river. We ate in the shade of a spreading willow, and then lazed in the river for a couple of hours, with shoals of baby fish gently nibbling our skin, gudgeon searching for food in the sediments, banded demoiselles parading above our heads, swallows and house martins swooping overhead and a solitary red kite circling lazily on the thermals. Idyllic !
