Who lights up your life?

Day 3 of the multiple exposure theme. Lucky for me that Diana has kept a stock of old fashioned clear light bulbs. You can't buy these in the shops any more and a low energy bulb is simply not up to the job.

Once again I watched the program 'The Job Interview' last night and felt for some of these people who so desperately want a job but for whatever reason have been unemployed for an extended period. One lad who made the final cut only to lose out to the other candidate at the final hurdle was very stoic and referenced an old Samurai saying to explain his philosophy on life which was 'When you find yourself caught in a  downpour, once you have accepted that you are going to get wet all that is left to do is enjoy the walk'

A great metaphor for life I reckon and I'm reminded of a web site that I stumbled across when I was researching cancer having first been diagnosed back in 1999. It was set up by a son in memory of his father who had died 18 months after being diagnosed. His father had spent the last 18 months of his life relentlessly pursuing the cure that didn't exist which meant that he didn't actually live what life he had left to live and that was his son's biggest regret. There's a lesson for us all there.
