Cooling Off

It was hot. Very hot. Scorching hot by English standards. The tar was melting on the roads. The best way of keeping cool was actually to ride as quickly as possible between cafe stops, of which I took in quite a few (Kettlewell, Bainbridge, Buckden) but the best stop of all was a serendipitous visit to the legendary Masonry at Aptrick. I must have passed by at least a hundred times before now but never before been in. Thanks for the beer Ted. That got me all the way home on tired legs. It was great to catch up.

My physical endurance is certainly returning. Mental stamina is lagging some way behind, but it is improving. I'm getting there, body leading, head trying to follow.
