A quickie blip of a hedgerow on the Lansdowne Estate as I walked back from Beversbrook Surgery, where I had been for a routine eye test that produced photographs closely resembling my Blip avatar.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Joni Mitchell - Chelsea Morning (1969)
Joni Mitchell was selling her songs before she started recording them so Chelsea Morning had been around for a couple of years before it appeared on her second album, Clouds. Dave Van Ronk was the first to record it, in 1967, and Fairport Convention's interpretation was recorded that November for their eponymous debut album of 1968, sung so precisely by Judy Dyble. This was the first version I knew and still know best, and so I was slightly surprised by the relative simplicity and beauty of Joni Mitchell's own  arrangement when I replayed the album on this day.
This song was the only single from the album in the UK, but never got beyond trhe promo single stage in the US following the huge success there of Judy Collins' version of the song, she having recorded it before Clouds came out.
