Harbour

A visit to the harbour today coincided with two ships heading out to sea. The pilot vessel hardly had time to see the first ship out and get back before the second one was already heading out.

The blue boat (Nao Thunder) is a Norwegian supply boat and was heading to anchor just off the coast a little way outside the harbour, where it now lies.

The orange boat (EDT Hercules) is a Cyprus registered ship and is heading to the Britannia Platform (a gas field) arriving about midnight tonight. This is a specialist sub sea ROV vessel.

Both these ships are visible in the top photograph, NAO Thunder is already manoeuvring to leave the harbour. Vessel details suggest the Hercules will be in Brazil in mid August.

Weather has been warm, cloudy, sunny and occasionally a little rain.
