Summit Mountain

On the Continental Divide Trail we hooted and hollered to alert any Grizzly Bears in the vicinity as we hiked in to Three Bear Lake. We enjoyed beautiful wildflowers in the open meadow as we approached the lake. Summit Mountain is the result of the Lewis Overthrust, a collision of two tectonic plates which exposed layers of sedimentary rock formed by an ancient inland lake which preceded the time of the glaciers. Billions of years in the making....this landscape.
