Sgwarnog: In the Field

Small Copper

We seem to have been defying the forecast rain over the past couple of days; warm and sunny it remains.

A lunchtime stroll along Baildon Bank showed that the Ragwort was the favoured nectar source of the day. Gatekeeper, Ringlet, Small Skipper, Meadow Brown and a single Antler Moth (see extras) were making the most of the yellow goodness, along with a few Small Coppers like the one here. And the second brood of Small Heaths are out, which strike me as a bit larger than the first, and prefer the Heather (extras).
