Into the unknown ...

So, this is my first blip and I'm intrigued to see how things will go!

I'm distinctly intimidated by the quality of the images that I've browsed - including superb photos submitted by a couple of colleagues - and also know that time will be a major issue, as will the challenge of mastering the technical stuff that I can be so slow to grasp!

On the other hand, I think that this site is a brilliant showcase for words and pictures, and I look forward to seeing if I can maintain a presence and can significantly extend my ability to 'see' and 'capture' moments in time.

I thought that it might be fun to start with a self-portrait of sorts ...
