Canal du. Nivernais Part 2

Saturday
A couple of weeks ago we cycled a section beside the Canal du Nivernais, starting a little south of Auxerre, and doing about 18 miles return. Today we did the next section further south, and I managed 23 miles return, though I was struggling for the last few miles at the end, and I now feel quite exhausted!
It was a very scenic section, passing the Rochers de Saussois, popular among rock climbers, and we passed several pleasure craft and quite a number of other bikers, especially on our return stretch. At our turn around point, we came across a campsite with a little simple snack bar near the entrance which was open to passers by, so we stopped for a bit of refreshment before heading back. The forecast had called for mainly sunny skies and warm temperatures, and we left home in the sun, but about half way there the skies became quite murky, and I felt a little cool as we set off. Fortunately however we hadn't been cycling long before the clouds began to break up, and it did turn into a beautiful sunny afternoon.
