Montreal - rue Sainte Catherine

Breakfast on the terrace then a quick walk round a market opposite our hotel. Then on our way back to Montreal. To Ro's horror we crossed the St Laurence by a huge very high bridge. Stopped on the way and arrived at our hotel around 3:30. No breakfast here but a full kitchen! A fridge as big if not bigger than mine at home!

So off to get some provisions before heading out to see the city! Much bigger than Quebec with many tall modern buildings. A lot of road and building works. We started going down rue Sainte Catherine where there was a festival 'just to laugh'! So much street food and entertainment. We stopped for an ice cream, dipped upside down in chocolate! It hardens round the ice Cream!

On to a road in china town with stalls and then on to see the Basilica of Notre Dame. Too late to visit but we sat in the square listening to a guitar player and watch people taking photos of the church and a beautiful fountain. Onwards and near a splendidly lit up town hall there was another huge square with more street happenings!

Back at hotel.... Bed I think! Have a good week!
