Broody pheasant hen

A backblip.  Pulling the weeds and pruning back the garden I suddenly heard a hissing sound and looking down saw this pheasant sitting in the flowerbed just below where I had been cutting.  She stayed there for several days and once when she was off the nest I had a look and surprise surprise she had been sitting on rather a large  oval brown pebble from the Chesil Beach!  She continued to sit there and  then one day she and the pebble were gone.

I wondered whether she was the hen whose nest had been wrecked in the hedgerow of a field nearby. Broken eggs had been found on the track eaten either by a fox, badger or rat.
