Stone age man

After the market and some errands, off north to have lunch with some pals. They're renovating a broken house (crazy fools - sheesh, who would do that?) so there was some catching up on what was done and still to do. Then a long lazy afternoon in the garden with pizzas done in the portable pizza oven (very snazzy!) and lots of setting the world to rights.  Well, ok, mostly just lots of grief, rage and denial about Brexit, but you get what I mean.

During all this, the kids mainly hid from wasps inside (an early attempt to prevent wasps by trapping the first arrival was thwarted by our soft-hearted daughter) but were lured out later and proceeded to set up a stone-age society.  Technically TallGirl was in the iron age (I guess) since she had remembered her Swiss Army knife, but CarbBoy was reduced to making tools with stones and wood.

Here, TallGirl has somehow suckered Mr B into helping make a spear.  She later used it to hunt hazelnuts.

Eventually, we took our craziness away from our friends and headed home over the hills of sunflowers.  I'm trying to forget that Mr B (passenger) played excruciatingly loud 80s music all the way home to torture the kids.
