Alien ...

Couldn't resist this extraordinarily contorted fungus growing beside the path in the middle reaches of the Bishop's Glen. About the size of a football, it looked almost wooden, though in reality it reminded me of an alien creature in one of the original Star Trek series.

We are still waiting for paint to dry ... We may be some time.

*Might it be a saprophytic fungus?
