A quick visit to the bees to see how they are doing, some capped cells of honey, lots of uncapped, so there's a lot going on. Things have slowed a bit but I'm hopeful of some honey at the end of the season.

A few facts (according to the Internet):
Incoming nectar contains 50 to 80% water, honey has 18% water content. The water content needs to evaporate until it is ready, after which the bees cap or seal the cell.
Honey is the only food that includes all the substances necessary to sustain life, including enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and water; and it's the only food that contains "pinocembrin", an antioxidant associated with improved brain functioning.
The average worker bee produces about 1/12th teaspoon of honey in her lifetime.
A honey bee visits 50 to 100 flowers during a collection trip.

And a couple of quotes:
Unique among all God's creatures, only the honeybee improves the environment and preys not on any other species.
Royden Brown
If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live?
Albert Einstein
