Lundy Day 3

A really great day today.  Lovely weather, and we took the opportunity to walk the length of the island, all the way to the northern point and the lighthouse there and then back to the village in the south.

To make the walk more interesting, we decided to search for the "letterboxes", a kind of treasure hunt to find hidden boxes using a set of clues and a compass. Each box contains a unique rubber stamp which can be used to record your find in your own notebook.  Some of them were trickier to find than others, but we managed to find all but one of those we looked for today.  The search also took us on paths and to parts of the island which we might not have otherwise discovered.

We ended the day back at the pub for another good meal, all feeling well exercised.  On the way back from the pub to the Old Light cottage, the sun was setting behing the old lighthouse, giving me my last photo of the day - and today's blip.

I think they have given up trying to get water to the cottage:  the low water levels have caused an airlock in the system which they haven't been able to clear.  Perhaps surprisingly, it doesn't seem to be causing us too much of a problem:   we are still having a great time.

[Back blipped - no internet on the island]
