1940s Weekend

An earlyish start, on the road to Pateley Bridge to meet up with fellow blippers https://www.blipfoto.com/lovelupins17

for a funfilled day of 1940s nostalgia :-)

We were very lucky with the weather........we wandered amidst war veterans, ladies dressed to the nines in their seamed stockings, armoured trucks, jeeps, even a spitfire plane !!

We had a lovely lunch in the Four Seasons cafe...we were served by land girls and a rather snazzy naval officer with his shades on......not quite Richard Gere ;-)'

I have a handful of shots that I am really happy with, but this little boy has stolen today's slot, he and his older brother were playing soldiers in and out of their doorway, pop pop pop with their toy guns, in keeping with the days theme. Luckily for me this little guy was a tad shy and stayed rather still ;-)

Later on this afternoon we left Pateley Bridge behind walked up a rather steep incline back to,our cars and took the short drive to Coldstone Cut in a follow the leader snake, led by Miss Organiser herself, otherwise know as Lupes:-)

After another not quite so steep climb up to the top, we were greeted by a vast panorama overlooking the open mine that is Coldstone Cut, quite something to see!!!

It's been a good day, lots of walking, blipping, fabulous to meet Jankerman, Shaamie, and his partner Ali and Riversider too, they, were firsts for me :-).

Massive thanks to Lovelupins17 for organising the day, a great success.....think we will all sleep well tonight :-)
