Switch House

Had a great day today :)  Tiring though!  We checked out of our hotel around 11, then went straight to the Tate Modern and went all round the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition, which was brilliant.  I really recommend it.  The lifts were a ruddy nightmare though!  It's so frustrating when you only need to go up one floor, but can't use the stairs (as my Mum's in a wheelchair) and every single lift that arrives is full already.  Eventually, we went down first instead, then back up again.  Top tip if you ever find yourself in the same situation!

After the exhibition, we worked our way over to the other side of the Tate, into the new Switch House extension (with yet more lift fun), and eventually made it up to the 10th floor.  It turned out to be well worth it, as the views are fantastic up there!  It wasn't horrendously busy either, which was also a nice surprise.

We tried to go to the restaurant afterwards, but just couldn't face the lifts anymore, so we went to leave instead, but came across the 'kitchen and bar' downstairs and stopped there for lunch.  Glad we did - it was really delicious food.

We drove to Epsom next - which took a while - and popped to a couple of shops for Mum to go handbag shopping (successfully!  I bought a new purse, too).  Finally got to our hotel in Dorking mid-evening, and had a 'room picnic' for tea, courtesy of the Tesco Express next door.
