Mono Monday: Taste

A taste from nature is hard to beat. The fresh spring water running through the rocks in the Lake District replenished the thirsty ultra runners as they navigated the undulating hills along the Montane Lakeland 50 ultra race at the weekend.

My lil' bro ran this event with two of his running pals, buddying up to pace them and learn the route ahead of competing in the 100 miler next year. Recent injury and the toll on his body of working long shifts at an airport recently hindered my bro's ability to race.

The running trio completed this event in an impressive 15 hours 55 minutes - around double the time my bro would usually finish this distance - describing the event as brutal but with scenery that hurt their eyes from such beauty. Here's a video from the event.

Thanks to JDO for hosting August's Mono Monday challenge. I'm looking forward to hosting December and starting to think about themes already!
