Beacon Hill Looking South... towards the weather.

Today I detoured to the top of Vårdkasberget (Beacon Hill) to get a good view of the sky. I knew thunderstorms would be brewing and thought there may be a good skyscape to blip.  Sure enough these thunderheads were building further south and then drifting north with the wind.
The wind at altitude was causing the system to slope, distorting the classic anvil shape, but actually creating a more dramatic image.
Later in the day these storms reached our area but all passed by our home, giving us just a few drops (so far) as JanHar showed in her Blip.
The extra, also taken from Beacon Hill, but looking east, shows similar thunderclouds building across the Baltic. Clouds like that only form over land so they must be over Finland, 100 km away! (Check out Paivi's Blip today.)
