Nigella and poppies

Another day, another garden - the parent, if you like: the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh. This grey, mild afternoon, the gardens were a riot of wonderful scents - in this area, where horticultural students have their own plots, there seemed to be an abundance of sweet peas. I took several photos of different flowers, but I've had a weakness for nigella - or love-in-a-mist - ever since my mother planted some seeds in her first (and only) garden and was so delighted when they flowered. And when I spotted these marvellous spotted poppies ...

A lovely, peaceful afternoon.
