After milking

We have 13 cows in, so after milking we took their calves off them and put them in the shed.  It's always sad doing this, but as they get older, the calves get harder to catch.  We milked the cows, and then put them back in their paddock. 

It was a very frosty morning, -3 when we left home at 8am.  Once the sun came out, we had the most gorgeous day.  Such a change from the wet, dull days we've had for so long.

Late this afternoon we returned to the shed and fed the calves.  Being left on their mum so long has made them big, strong calves, which mades it very hard to teach them to drink.  Hopefully tomorrow morning they will be more co-operative.
