Cleverness

After milking and feeding out we headed to Lake Rotoiti for lunch. Son C was returning to Blenheim, and the lake is just about half way. We also thought it would be a nice 'last' trip off the farm for Farmerboy, as soon he will be too busy with calving to get away.

It was a very wet morning to be out with the cows. More calves born overnight, so making sure they were with their mums and had they had plenty to eat was a priority. Any day soon the calves will be taken from their mums, as it is becoming too hard to get the cows in for milking.

It rained hard on the way to the lake, and continued raining through lunch. The photo is of the design on my hot chocolate at the cafe. It's quite an art making drinks these days!

It was sad saying goodbye to C, once again. The weekend goes so fast - no doubt the weeks will go just as fast until his next visit home.
