Wet

Who would be a farmer?  Not me today.  It's rained non stop, in fact it's rained just about non stop for days, and the week ahead doesn't look much better.  We (and our cows and calves) are contending not only with wet, cold and horrible weather, but also mud.  It's everywhere.  And makes it so hard to be out in it.

The poor wee calves being born in this weather are suffering.  We get them into the shed, and give them some milk, which helps them warm up and make them stronger.

It was our worker's day off today, so it was all hands on deck helping.  Son T is on the bike seen in the photo, while Farmerboy is in front with the tractor and feed out wagon.  I'm on the second bike - this photo is taken looking through the screen.  The cows were waiting for us to arrive and give them some lovely dry (although not dry for long) hay.

And as I'm typing this, the rain is still belting down on the roof.  I do wish it would stop.
