Back and Otarama

Today was clear, sunny and cold. The high was under 5ºC. The mountains looked beautiful early on, but I didn’t get out until lunchtime when there was too much shadow and the air had lost its crispness. The resulting shots were disappointing. I decided this one of Back Peak and Otarama looked better in grey than in blue.

The extra shot is of Ben More, which was at a better angle to the sun. Note the Wellingtonias (Sequoias), as well as the sheep that have become something of a novelty since the district was converted to dairying.
