Surprise Visitor

I put a ripe banana out for the waxeyes and was surprised to see a female bellbird eating it. Since, until today, I have put out only sugar water this winter she was very quick in discovering it. She did not taste the sugar water, which was was about 10mm from the banana. Nor did she reward me with her beautiful song.

Normally she would be slim and sleek, but today was very cold and she was puffed up.
