"Helga", a Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G

I think this is a Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G, a German assault gun based on the Panzer III tank chassis. More of these were built than any other German fighting vehicle in the Second World War. I just love the row of jerry cans across the engine cover.


Seen at the Military and Flying Vehicle Show at Damyn's Hall Aerodrome, this vehicle was in superb condition - amazing to think it is probably seventy years old.
