Foiled!

Our aim was to drive up Mt Oxley to see the from the top and see what was there. Apparently the sunsets are amazing. But this bank of padlocks put paid to that idea!

Instead we continued on our way to Bourke. I was pleased to get my wet tent up and air out my sleeping bag. We'd had a sharp frost last night which had left ice on the tent. Did I ever have cold feet too.

Lots of sparse & spindly eucalyptus trees today, and kangaroos too. The very best was seeing a couple Australian black shouldered kites, high in a beautiful wattle tree. I captured some photos too! but no downloading to computer yet. It'll have to be padlocks tonight.
