"Your bill, sir...."

A waitress delivers the bill to a customer at the "Berry Bros & Rudd No. 3 Bar" in the basement of the Royal Albert Hall prior to the start of a concert.

This is the third and final day of our weekend Arena Promming pass to the BBC Promenade Concerts.  There were two concerts today.  In the afternoon I enjoyed the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland playing the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2 (soloist Pavel Kolesnikov) and Stravinsky's The Firebird .  In the evening, it was the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra with Tchaikovsky's first Piano Concerto (soloist Kirill Gerstein) and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.

The evening concert was a sell-out., and the Arena was as full as I have seen it, so no real opportunity for sitting.  So at the end of this musical weekend, of Russian Music and largely Scottish musicians, we are feeling pretty exhausted - and my feet ache!  But it was all very enjoyable.


We have one more visit to the Proms coming up this year - but for that we have seats (I'm glad to say).
