Little fishers

Last day but we're not leaving until after tea intending to get home around weans' bedtime. The weather's fine so it makes sense to get ourselves ready and take David's little boat out into the loch to catch some fish. Just me and Graeme, Hannah and Ewan. All went swimmingly although there was no swimming involved, thankfully. Graeme rowed out and got the boat ready and we spied gannets diving so we headed that way, landed some silvery mackerel before having to move as the tide was carrying us close to a wee island. Some rain fell. We caught more fish. Hannah took the kudos for the biggest fish, Ewan landed the most including getting four on the rod at once. Total haul of 13 before we reckoned the cloud was looking a bit too threatening.

After tea we headed back but didn't get much past Lochgilphead before some idiot filled the diesel car with unleaded. I'll not mention any names but his words on leaving the petrol station, "next stop home!" will ring in his ears for some time. Four hours later, after having to pay to have the car emptied and refuelled, we headed off again. Bed at 2.30am. Bah. But a small blemish on an otherwise excellent week. David and Maggie are truly fabulous hosts.
