Empty Nest

I was wandering around in the backyard, looked up in the palm tree and saw the nest that started my journey to better photography.

Six years ago, I watched as the robins built this nest, sat on the eggs and saw three babies hatch, grow and fledge. I was out every day taking pictures (sometimes on a ladder). The robins got used to me being around and were wary but not anxious.

At that time, I was wishing my skills were better, so I took classes and learned more about the camera. Of course, that led to wanting better equipment, glass, taking more classes, etc.

There is always so much more to learn, but this hobby has given me many years of enjoyment and I am grateful for that.
