A living Legend

This is a picture of Liam with Peter, who to our family, is a living legend. After harassing several respite agencies in Sydney, I was lucky enough to be given 5 hours of respite a fortnight, and Peter was sent to us as Liam's carer. As well as a full time job and a busy family life of his own, Peter takes Liam out every other Sunday and they go the the beach for a long walk, and a swim in the warmer weather. As you can see from the photo, Liam adores him and is nearly always very well behaved and regulated on his outings. A year ago it would have been a struggle to get Liam out of the car, let alone go walking all afternoon. It is wonderful to have 5 hours off, but the best thing about the time we have is that I know Liam is very safe with Peter and subsequently I can truly relax. As a parent you can't enjoy time out unless you're happy your child is safe and happy too. Peter has a natural talent with Liam and has achieved remarkable milestones. We are very lucky but also very appreciative.
