A hot and windy day of survey on a heathland site in Norfolk. It was our second visit, and there weren't many extra plants to record, so I helped Pete catch solitary bees and wasps. But I'm not really sure my reflexes are good enough now - perhaps they never were!

We arrived home relatively early and were greeted by the smell of lamb kleftiko, which Alex had prepared for us. I whipped up a salad of chicory, orange, pomegranate and fennel and we ate in the garden - a true taste of summer.
